Kiroro is a hidden powder paradise. As with all of Hokkaido's ski resorts, Kiroro snow resort receives an incredible amount of dry powder snow and being that little closer to the Sea of Japan and north facing some will argue that the snow quality is even better than Niseko ski resort. Most years, Kiroro receives up to 20 metres of dry powder snow. Kiroro is ideal for families and couples with its perfect powder, a long ski season and short lift lines. With great future plans for the resort, this is one to keep on the radar, better still, get in first before everyone else hears about it.

At just an hours drive from Niseko and close to Sapporo, skiers often find and fall in love with Kiroro after visiting for a day trip. Kiroro ski resort is 43km west of Sapporo and 28km from the seaside town of Otaru on Japan’s North Island Hokkaido. Kiroro takes just over 2 hours by road from Sapporo’s Chitose International airport.

With the likes of Niseko and Rusutsu firmly on the international map, this hidden little gem often receives more snow, less people and no lift lines. Locals head to Kiroro to escape the crowds and find deep untracked tree-skiing. With its secluded steep and deep runs plus its wide open groomed runs, its the perfect resort for all skiing abilities.

The main runs are very wide with terrain suitable for beginners and intermediates. For the experts, there's a good selection of off-piste runs under the boundary ropes. For families and activities off the slopes, there's a great range of snowmobiling, tubing, restaurants,  and more.

Kiroro is perfect for either a family vacation due to the relatively quiet nightlife and full-service resort experience, or as a day trip for ski holiday goers staying at other nearby resorts.
